This Dell Latitude E6420 is a powerhouse laptop and a bargain. It has a powerful Intel Core i7 2.7GHz CPU, 4GB DDR3 RAM, 160GB Storage, DVD ROM Drive and more.
This is what I would call a medium sized laptop. Not too big, not too small. The 14" screen is the most popular sized in Dell laptops. It is light enough to pick up and go with but has a keyboard and screen that are big enough to use for hours. Most importantly, this laptop has Windows 7 Pro pre-installed. The next most important fact is that it comes with a one year Discount Electronics parts and labor warranty.
If you need more memory or a bigger hard drive feel free to indulge above in the upgrade section. Upgraded laptops still ship the same day if ordered before 2:30PM.

One Year Parts & Labor Warranty Yes it is strange to see a warranty that long on something used or refurbished and even stranger to see it coming from a retailer rather than a manufacturer but that is what separates us from the crowd of computer retailers. Service after the sale and our warranty is what this company is all about.
I love these! I am the I/T manager for a group of dealerships, and I have purchased a bunch of these! I had one power supply go bad, and they shipped me a new one ASAP. Love the money I save and the great products I get.
Dell has some issues as a business, especially when using their online technical support to update the drivers on this laptop. Such as nearly 7000 foreign hackers ... I found that russians were able to use the included Libre Office and VLS Video software included as a “backdoor” into my otherwise secured system. It took a bit of work to get rid of that. Malwarebytes was needed to kill the rootkits. As far as iTunes on Windows 7, beware the iPod hack. I had to use defraggler to defragment iPod in the iTunes folder to kill that russian. Then the darn holes in Firefox on Win 7 Pro and copyright.gov had me ready to beg God for guillotines, them darn thieves! The nasty Swiss even added ransonmware in theor “vaulted” Proton VPN, but Bitdefender nailed that. Good news, I managed to upgrade the i7 firmware from Intel “highly recommended” btw ... and was successful at updating the BIOS off of Dell’s servers. Windows Update got the USB drivers updated (very important). My guess is having iCloud on it was a good thing, or some may say otherwise.
This is a fantastic laptop once the necessary updates and upgrades are done. It does what I need it to do, like DAW editing for musical compositions to compare with latency-free Macs. I only wish Windows 7 Professional included Bitlocker for hard drive encryption like Windows 10 Pro does, but Bitdefender was able to do this. You can bet your asses I am suing the ones who deserve it, and it is not Disicount Electronics. Thanks guys, you sold me a great machine. Suggest 8GB Ram as standard, though. Underperforms at 4GB.
Working great so far. Received in only 3 days.
Seems to be a good machine. I look forward to using it.
Arrived in near-mint condition. Very fast and yet runs at low temps. Very satisfied customer.
I show only one com port, need more
I just bought 2 of these. Couldn't be more pleased. Replaced the RAM w/Crucial 8 gig, which was cheaper than the DE upgrade, installed a 500 gig Intel SSD, and upgraded to Win10. Delivery time was great. Price was the best I found online.
Great deal, quality product, awesome company!
Purchased 11/20/15. Received 11/23/15. Product was as advertised and in good shape. Has performed well since arrival. Price was just over $450USD with the 8GB RAM. Discount Electronics was good to deal with and delivered the product as promised in a timely fashion. I supposed paying shipping insurance on a refurb not coming directly from factory in a necessary thing just not something I'm used to doing. It wasn't that much but does increase the total amount paid. No complaints regarding the service. The machine is not quite as fast as I thought it would be with SSD. The RAM would be better at 16 or even 12 but that was Dell's decision. Windows 7 pro and explorer 11 are a bit unstable with several restarts and long running script failures. Chrome seems to perform better with this setup. Overall I will give it 4 stars as I am 80% satisfied considering the price.
